Lovely Historic house circa 1850, located in the charming village of Odessa, which has previously been on the "Christmas in Odessa" house tour. The property is adjacent to Town of Odessa Open Space located in front of the Town Hall, and is also within walking distance of the tennis courts, Post Office and Cantwell's Tavern, which is known for fine dining. The house is named "Tradesman's House" because at one time the house was occupied by a Surveyor (who was reported to have laid out the Town of Odessa) and a "Leather Goods Person" (maker of reins, bridles, etc.). The house was reported to have had two front doors during this time, one for each business. The inside walls are made up of a compound called "Noggin", a mixture of cement, stones and other objects. Noggin was used for strength and insulation. Tradesman's House still maintains the wide width pine floors which have been preserved and still used by the present owners. The house has two bedrooms and two baths (one of which is on the main floor), a large Living Room and Dining Room, updated kitchen, cozy Family Room, and a large screened rear porch where you can sit and enjoy the beautifully landscaped rear yard with many flowering shrubs and perennials. In addition, there is a remarkable workshop in the rear yard, with heat and a window a/c, large work island and cabinets. It is rumored that many crab feasts were enjoyed in the workshop!
